Lutheran Church of the Covenant’s
Weekly Prayer List Ministry
The Lutheran Church of the Covenant is a praying community of faithful followers of Jesus, who invites us to come to Him with our prayer requests. We believe the promises of God contained in
His word regarding prayer.
Congregational members may request prayer for themselves, their family members, friends, coworkers, neighbors, etc., who are in need of prayer. Someone will be available in
the main narthex before each service to take requests on Sunday morning. We list only the person’s first name and do not include details. The list may also include joys or concerns of the
surrounding communities (such as Neabsco Elementary School, the military, county, state, national, and global events). The Prayer List is then given to the Assisting Minister for inclusion in
the Prayers of Intercession during our worship services. Our Prayer List will need to be updated constantly. Unless notified with more information, names added to the Prayer List will be
automatically taken off the list after three weeks of publication.
This Prayer List insert is included in the church bulletin weekly and is provided to encourage members of LCOC to keep these special people in their prayers during the week.
Members are invited to take this list home and remember the needs of others in their daily prayers. The following prayer may be used at home:
Almighty, everlasting God, the eternal salvation of all who believe, hear my (our) prayer for all who are sick, mourning, lonely, (other things can be added). I (We) especially lift up to your gracious care all of our brothers and sisters who have been placed on our Prayer List. I (We) pray that you will graciously heal their bodies and refresh their spirits with your comfort, your peace and that they may feel your abiding presence. I (We) thank and praise you for all you have done in their lives, are doing, and will do. In Jesus precious name, I (We) pray. Amen.
